Fantastic chicken and yucca! Inexpensive, quick for take out, very friendly staff. Haven't quite figured out when they make things fresh but they're generally well geared up to meet demand at 12pm and 6pm, can usually be in and out within 10 minutes.

This is my new go to place for Peruvian chicken in Silver Spring! The restaurant is very nicely laid out and there is lots of room inside. The service was great! I ordered 1/4 chicken (and the staff gave me a little bit extra!) with plantains and yuca. It seemed like they had a batch of yuca cooked already, but the staff cooked a fresh batch for me too- around a 5 minute wait. They gave me a generous serving size especially at a low price ($5.75 for 1/4 chicken+2 sides)! Also their green sauce is spicier than the others that I've had (a plus!) and the yellow sauce was also more flavorful than what I can remember from other restaurants. The chicken was a little dry, but it was very flavorful- they may rub more spices on the chicken than other places. The plantains and yuca were both pretty good, on par with the other places that I have tried before. I will definitely be heading back there for my Peruvian chicken craving!

We end up eating here at least 3-4 times a month. Not only is the food cheap, but it is CONSISTENTLY delicious! Their chicken, fried yucca, papusas...all super tasty.

The chicken is solid. Not great, but good enough. Big portions!! I paid $5.66 for a 1/4 chicken, fries, and plantains (which always cost extra at other places!!) Great green salsa and did I mention the huge portions?? They are also a bakery and serve quasi Asian/American food like teriakyi chicken, which seems a bit odd but oh well... All in all a good place to go for sure!

i don't write reviews often but i love and enjoy this place so much, i feel like i have the need to. the customer service is amazing. the workers are so charming! i only come here to get pollo chicken-- NO WHERE else. the chicken is delicious and the sides are as well! they give you what you want and make sure you are satisfied with your food. give this place a try! make this your default pollo chicken place haha :P

The chicken is good and moist and flavorful. Favors most peruvian chicken type places but they have different sides. Atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired but the food is good. Would go there again for carryout.

One of the great many Peruvian charcoal chicken joints liberally peppered across the area, Chicken Loco is at least on par with the majority of them. The beautiful thing about this type of chicken is that even when it's not the best, it's still pretty damned good. I could find no major fault with the chicken itself. It was a bit on the smaller side for a whole bird, but that's not unusual for this style of chicken. It was seasoned very well and juicy. The skin could have been crispier but that was probably a result of having to walk a few blocks home with it before digging in. It came with the usual cups of aioli and green pepper sauce. I had the plantains and the rice & beans as sides. Both were excellent, and as is also par for the course with these types of places, the portions were impressively generous. I could not believe that the guy went back for another spoonful after already dropping a huge pile of rice and beans onto my takeout tray. Instead of giving me plantains from the bottom of the steam tray he went back to the cooking area and brought a fresh batch, which was much appreciated. Overall it's not the best Peruvian chicken I've ever had but still really good. It compares favorably to El Pollo Sabroso a block down the street, particularly in the speed of service department. I was in and out in just a few minutes. I really enjoyed the food and seeing how it's within easy walking distance of my house I will definitely be going back here, a lot.

Really tasty chicken, fast service, clean kitchen, really good sides, huge portions, and cheap. Also a really big selection of other food, though I haven't tried it yet. My new favorite chicken spot.

This is my new neighborhood go-to spot for delicious, quick, and and inexpensive food in a clean and cheerful atmosphere. It's a great place to meet up with friends without breaking the bank. The music - which is fabulous - is sometimes a bit loud. Other than that, the place is great.
